A For the whole church and for those preparing to become members,
that we always remember the way of the cross
as well as the triumph of the resurrection,
we pray to the Lord:
B For those with the power to impose the death penalty,
that they respect life, justice and human rights,
we pray to the Lord:
C For all who recognize Jesus in others,
that they respond with kindness to people who are poor or outcast,
we pray to the Lord:
For those who suffer persecution for the sake of justice,
that they bear suffering patiently and rise to new life in Jesus,
we pray to the Lord:
D For all who gather at this table,
especially those preparing for the Easter sacraments,
that they face every trial in the firm hope of the resurrection,
we pray to the Lord:

Loving God, for us your Son endured death on a cross.
Listen with compassion to our prayers,
and grant us the grace to follow him with love.
We ask you this through the same Christ our Lord.
